NLEX crosses fingers regarding Kevin Alas’ knee injury

NLEX Road Warriors head coach Frankie Lim is optimistic about Kevin Alas’ knee injury, hoping it’s not severe as they await the MRI results.

Alas suffered the left knee injury while challenging Terrafirma’s Javi Gomez de Liano in the second quarter of the Road Warriors-Dyip game on Saturday.

The seasoned guard walked to the dugout on his own after the injury but did not rejoin the game

Lim expressed concern, stating that their physical therapists fear Alas might have suffered another ACL injury.

“Pina-MRI namin pero mga PT namin dito suspect nila ACL,” Lim said.

Lim is hopeful for a positive outcome from Alas’ MRI.

“Tignan natin. Baka sa Lunes may resulta na. Sana hindi masyadong malala,” Lim added.

In his PBA career, Alas has endured two ACL injuries on his right knee, with the first occurring in March 2018 and the second in February 2019.

Notably, all knee injuries, including Saturday’s incident, occurred at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
