The Pampanga Giant Lanterns have received an added boost to their roster with the acquisition of Joe Gomez de Liaño from the Marikina Shoemasters.
In a trade approved by the MPBL Office, the Shoemasters traded Gomez de Liaño to the Giant Lanterns in exchange for Miggy Corteza.
Gomez de Liaño can immediately see action for the defending champions, the Giant Lanterns, in their game against the Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards tonight.
Gomez de Liaño averaged 9.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.5 blocks in almost 23 minutes of action for the Shoemasters this season.
Corteza, on the other hand, averaged 4.4 points, 1.9 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.1 steals, and 0.2 blocks in 11 minutes for the Giant Lanterns.
The Giant Lanterns currently have a 12-1 win-loss slate, while the Shoemasters have a 4-11 record.
