Last Abu Sayaf in Bohol “Asis” killed; Bohol cleared of Abu Sayyaf


“This crisis is finally over.”

This was the announcement of 302nd Infantry Brigade Commander Brigadier. Gen. Arnulfo Matanguihan after the passing of "Abu Asis," the last remainder of the Abu Sayyaf criminals who invaded Bohol a month ago.


Abu Asis, the last remnant of the Abu Sayyaf bandits who entered Bohol last month lays dead in Barangay Lawis, Calape afterhe was gunned down by police Special Weapons and Tactics operatives.

Asis was killed in Barangay Lawis, Pangangan Island, Calape at past 5 p.m on Monday, six hours after "Abu Ubayda" was gunned around security drives in a similar town.


Reports demonstrated that Asis was shot dead by Special Weapons and Tactics agents taking after a tussle between the suspect and a villager.

The man recognized as Crisanto Bancore allegedly observed Asis unarmed inciting him to connect with the bandit  close by to-hand battle.

Asis was apparently flushed out of a graveyard by a military knowledge unit constraining him to move towards a local location where he was seen by Bancore.

A couple of hours preceding the last experience, Ubayda was killed by security compels after he and Asis were spotted at a security checkpoint in Barangay Lawis.

At 12 p.m., the two speculates went out of the Tuloy family which they held prisoner since Friday, said Councilor Rading Sarsuelo of Barangay Lawis in Pangganan.



The criminals then instantly fled utilizing a stolen bike.

Ubayda allegedly held the bike's driver at gunpoint while Asis appropriated the vehicle.
