Mocha Uson Burst Anger Against Rappler "JOURNALISTS KAYO DIBA? USE YOUR COMMON SENSE"

PCOO Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson reprimanded Rapplers article about her alleged mistake - sharing an unverified image.

Mocha Uson replied with a fiery message to Rappler. She said that they should use their common sense.
Uson explained that she did not say "that the picture was taken from Marawi" and it was only a "symbol of army praying."

"Rappler minsan gumamit din ng common sense wag masyadong mag magaling. I did not say na Philippine Army yan. I did not say that picture was taken from Marawi. It's a symbol of army praying," she wrote.

"Pag nag post ba ako ng picture ni Rizal na sumusulat at sabihin ko na tuloy ang laban para sa kalayaan ibig sabihin si Rizal ang lalaban??? Siyempre hindi dahil patay na si Rizal.," she said giving a few instances.

"Pag nagpost ba ako ng picture ni Bonifacio na may hawak na itak at may caption na tuloy ang rebolusyon ibig bang sabihin ay lalaban tayong naka itak???" she added.

She further emphasized that what she posted was called SYMBOLISM, implying Rappler doesn't understand it was meant to be like that and asked them again to use their common sense and to not be "mema". A term use towards people who just say something just for the sake of saying something, even if it doesn't prove anything at all.

Uson also stated that her caption was for the Filipinos to pray for the country's soldiers and that she didn't said that they were Filipino soldiers.

She pointed out that its not the same mistake INQUIRER did where they used a different picture and captioned it stating it was what is happening in Marawi City.

At the end of her message, she questioned them why would she post that its from the Philippines when they it has a flag of a different country.

Rappler denounced PCOO's Mocha Uson after the staunch Duterte supporter shared a photo from a page called "CinEmotion Digital Films" and added a caption saying,

"Let's pray for our army. Panalangin din po natin ang mga pamilyang naiwan at nababahala sa kalagayan ng kanilang asawa at tatay."

[TRANSLATION: ... Let us also pray the families left behind and about the plight of their husband and father.]

Rappler posted an article about the so-called mistake. However, the "prominent" news website pointed out that the photo used are "neither Filipinos nor soldiers."

The photo was from CinEmotion Digital Films which they posted on their Facebook page on May 28 to support Philippine troops. The page owner/s admitted that the photo "was "#copypaste_from_the_owner" without mentioning who that owner was." However, Rappler stated that it wasn't enough for Mocha Uson to verify the authenticity of the photo before she shared it.

.@MochaUson Tell your followers AND yourself that we have enough photos of our soldiers praying. No need to use Honduras police's. SHAME! http://pic.twitter.com/b83CJtm7Z8

Back in August 2016, Uson also shared a post from campaign spokesperson of PRRD wherein he was "calling out the church, human rights activists, and the media critical of the Duterte administration for their supposed "silence" on the rape of and murder of a little girl."

But the post was posted with an image taken from Brazil in 2014. Mocha Uson said that she never said that it happened in the Philippines and eventually deleted the post after discovering it was fake.

The media made her mistake such a big deal and even shared that "Uson is bound by the “Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees. Under Section 4 of RA 6713, "public officials shall perform and discharge their duties with the highest degree of excellence, professionalism, intelligence, and skill."
