Greetings and praises when Charice's name change, but a close family member did not feel happy about it.
Tess Relucio, grandmother of Charice, was frustrated with her Facebook account about changing the name of the grandchild.
"Who is Charice Pempengco? My grandchild! 'Jake Zyrus is not my grandson, I do not know that,' Relucio said.
She even told her that she was still quiet at admitting her grandmother's lesbian, but she was talking about a change of name.
"When your Daddy died, you're forced to change the 'Pempengco'. You did not win. I'm in love with you, Charice. But now, even if I die, son, I will not tolerate you being Jake Zyrus, "Relucio said to his grandson.
He added, "Charice Pempengco was born, to be killed by Charice Pempengco, when it was placed in the coffin, not Jake Zyrus, Charice Pempengco."
His grandmother did not agree with it for the pleasure of his grandfather.
According to Kevin Balot, a transvestite, another family could not easily accept this change.
ABS-CBN News tried to interview Jake Zyrus, but according to his manager Carl Cabral, the singer was still on vacation.
Grandma Tess's grin was deeply rooted. However, he did not feel the emotion he lost in his love as Charice.

Although Jake has yet to confirm this, but the name change appears to have been precipitated by his breakup with his girlfriend of four years, fellow singer Alyssa Quijano, last April. With the deletion of his Instagram posts, Jake also erased his past memories with Alyssa, at least on social media.
He has yet to offer any explanation why he chose Jake Zyrus as his new name.
