Many people have found different types of things in the bottom of the ocean. Apart from airplane wreckage and trash, people recover unbelievable things like sunken ships (okay, not so unbelievable)… with treasure!
Such was the case that was reported by Social Pees. According to them, a bunch of treasures were found in the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. In fact, they were so abundant that people couldn’t help but be in awe.
Look at them here:

The source noted that those coins above were retrieved from SS City of Cairo. The ship sunk in November 1942 because it was attacked by a German U-boat that had around 296 civilians and a cargo box that contained 100 tons of silver.
The ship was a casualty of World War 2. According to the report: “It only took 7 years of searching by Deep Ocean Search, a survey and recovery company specializing in deep-sea services, to finally find the ship that was located more than 16,800 feet below the surface of the water (5,150 meters).”
It turned out that in 2011, a submarine vessel picked up something strange in their radar. It was the USS City of Cairo which was damaged into two parts and buried by siLt.

The group who retrieved the ship and its lost treasures said: “"Under contract to the UK Ministry of Transport, DOS recovered several tens of tons of silver coins from a depth of (5,150 meters).”
Well, what happened to the coins? They were melted and the silver, sold separately. By whom? The Deep Ocean Search got a percentage of the things sold while the United Kingdom Treasury obtained the rest.
What do you think about these treasures found in the sunken ship? Were you amazed? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!
