Asia Traditional Costume Fashion Show with 2017 FACE of ASIA upholds countries all over Asia showing their traditional yet fashionable costume.

However, netizens most especially those who knows the traditional costume of the Philippines reacts to the models wearing a simple gown which is really beyond everyone's expectations.

Here are some of the post from Netizens:

"I was expecting na barong tagalog at maria clara style ang national costume ng philippines anong nangyari sa mga model at stylist hindi din mukhang pinoy ung mga model may dala pang flag para may masabi lng kalerkey sana d na lng kayo sumali nakakahiya" -Kristel Isorena

"Very disappointed its not a national costume for a filipino... Its look like a simple party gown rather than a traditional costume... They disrespect our traditional dress to represent it.. Only the Philippines Flag color w/out yellow was represent... Maybe this PH representative didn't grow up in Philippines coz he/she don't know what's a Philippine National Costume look like... They should at least use Alampay and Mestiza Bolero to look like Filipiniana." - Cheriza Ibana

"My expectations were too far from reality. I thought the models wore Barong Tagalog & Filipiniana, they ruined the image of Filipino traditions and culture. If I have not seen yet the 🇵🇭 Flag, I didn't recognize that those models represents Philippines." -Mah Peeh

Asia Model Festival started November 15, 2014 and its platform is to pivot the era of cultural industry that is based on analytic ability and collecting big data which spreads throughout the world.

The official national costume of Filipino men is the barong tagalog. The upper garment of the boy in the picture is a barong. It is worn over a Chinese collarless shirt called camisa de Chino. The boy is also wearing the traditional wide-brimmed hat salakot, which is usually made of rattan or reeds.

What's your say on this? Comments from organizers are also welcome for us to know what happened with the traditional costume of the Philippines.
