The Dilawans are urging Filipinos to keep the Spirit of EDSA burning. This is because the crowd of people attending the People Power anniversary are growing thinner and thinner each passing year.
OtsoDiretso candidate and former SolGen Pilo Hilbay said it profoundly best in his tweet to describe EDSA People Power celebration in reccent years.
Former DLSU History professor Van Ybiernas isn’t sure about it.
In fact, in his Facebook post, he believed that the Spirit of EDSA is very much alive to many Filipinos. “Buhay na buhay ang diwa ng EDSA sa mga Pilipino.”
Ybiernas reasoned that is why the dilawans cannot manipulate the EDSA People Power against the President. “Kaya nga hindi ito namamanipula ng mga Dilaw laban sa pangulo.”
Do you why Ybiernas said that?
Because the Spirit of EDSA is the national unity for the betterment of the country. “Dahil ang diwa ng EDSA ay pambansang pagkakaisa para sa pagbabago para sa Bayan.”
Ybiernas remarked that the true Spirit of EDSA emerged in 2016. The people put in power Duterte to Malacanang. “At lumabas nga ang tunay na diwa ng EDSA nitong 2016 lang. Iniluklok ng kapangyarihan ng bayan si Duterte sa Malakanyang.”
Ybiernas said the people fought against the government that they don’t trust at replaced it with a leader they loved, Duterte. “Kinalaban ng taumbayan ang gobyernong hindi na nila pinagkakatiwalaan at pinalitan nila ng isang pinuno na mahal nila, si Duterte.”
Ybiernas said that EDSA was not about Aquino or Marcos. It was about people uniting to a common goal, to choose a leader who will lead the people to this common goal or intention. And that leader today is Duterte. “Hindi tungkol sa mga Aquino o Marcos ang EDSA. Tungkol ito sa pagkakaisa ng bayan para sa isang tunguhin, sa pagpili ng pinuno na mamumuno sa Bayan sa tunguhing iyon. At si Duterte nga ang pinunong iyon ngayon.”
