Warriors rebound after losing to Cavs, defeat Pistons 120-109

Stephen Curry led the Golden State Warriors to a 120-109 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Monday night (Tuesday, Manila time) in the Warriors’ sixth road game out of the first eight games.

Detroit remained competitive throughout the game, thanks to the contributions of their starting guards, Cade Cunningham and Killian Hayes, both of whom scored 21 points.
Pistons rookie Ausar Thompson also made a notable impact with 16 points and four steals.

At the conclusion of the third quarter, Golden State maintained a slim one-point lead, 83-82.

Detroit subsequently held a five-point advantage, 88-93, with 9:42 left in the fourth. Yet pivotal three-pointers from both Curry and Klay Thompson sparked a 15-4 run by the Warriors, thwarting Detroit’s attempt to regain the lead.

Curry, who was recently named the Western Conference Player of the Week, led the game with 34 points, shooting 7-for-17 from beyond the three-point line. Dario Saric and Jonathan Kuminga also played crucial roles off the bench, contributing a combined 22 points as the Warriors’ bench outscored Detroit’s bench 49-24.

Both teams had suffered recent losses and were playing the second game of a back-to-back set. Nevertheless, the Pistons’ struggles persisted, as they extended their losing streak to five games after this matchup.

The Warriors (6-2) will face the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night (Thursday, Manila time) in the last game of their current four-game road trip before a prolonged homestand.

The Pistons (2-6), on the other hand, are gearing up for a challenging road game against the Milwaukee Bucks on the same day.
