Vic Manuel to undergo knee surgery

San Miguel Beermen forward Vic Manuel will sit out for at least six weeks as he undergoes knee surgery.

According to team manager Gee Abanilla, Dr. Jose Raul Canlas recommended that Manuel undergo arthroscopic surgery.

“Dr. Canlas is recommending arthroscopic surgery for Vic to clean his knee of any meniscal fragments and calcium deposits and to repair possible meniscal tears on his knee,” Abanilla told The Manila Times.

Abanilla also revealed that Manuel underwent knee strengthening and platelet-rich plasma therapy (PRP), but he still feels pain in his knee.

The San Miguel team official estimates that Manuel will miss at least six weeks of action.

Manuel averaged 9.8 points and 2.9 rebounds per game for the Beermen last season.
