It appears that the Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee (HAGOC) has approved the last-minute changes to the Gilas Pilipinas roster just before the start of their 19th Asian Games campaign on Tuesday afternoon.
The names of the Gilas Pilipinas replacement players, Marcio Lassiter, Kevin Alas, Arvin Tolentino, and Chris Ross, have already been listed on the official website of the Asian Games on Monday night.
Earlier in the day, there were still questions about whether HAGOC would allow the four players to serve as injury replacements for Roger Pogoy, Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser, Kiefer Ravena, and Jamie Malonzo.
Also listed on the Asiad website as part of the Gilas Pilipinas team are Justin Brownlee, Angelo Kouame, June Mar Fajardo, Earl Scottie Thompson, Japeth Aguilar, Jaymar Perez, Calvin Oftana, and Chris Newsome.
The Philippine men’s basketball team, under the guidance of Tim Cone, will kick off their campaign against Bahrain on Tuesday afternoon.
