Luka Dončić reminds Vlade Divac of NBA draft blunder

Luka Dončić put up another brilliant game for the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday, and he made sure that Sacramento Kings general manager Vlade Divac would regret his decision in the 2018 NBA draft.

Dončić finished the game with 26 points, nine rebounds, and 12 assists to propel the Mavericks to a 107-103 win over the Kings.

After he took the game-clinching free throws, he conveyed a message to Divac, who was seated at courtside.

“Luka Doncic as he puts away the Kings tonight in Sacramento with his final free throw, then as the final horn sounds, waves goodbye to former Kings GM Vlade Divac seated courtside and says ‘he shoulda’ drafted me,’” Kings’ radio reporter Sean Cunningham said.

The Kings had the chance to draft Dončić as the second overall selection in 2018, but they chose Marvin Bagley III. The Atlanta Hawks immediately grabbed the Slovenian third overall before trading him to Dallas in exchange for fifth overall selection Trae Young.

Dončić is already a five-time All-Star and four-time All-NBA First Team member over his first six seasons in the league.

Meanwhile, Bagley has yet to find a consistent role in the NBA and has been traded twice in his young career. (MJD)
