Volley fans question delay in national women’s team formation for AVC tourney

Filipino volleyball fans are searching for answers as to why no national women’s volleyball team has been formed yet for the 2024 AVC Challenge Cup for Women to be hosted by the Philippines next month.

According to their social media comments, it is stunning that the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) has yet to come out with at least a shortlist of players for the tournament slated from May 22 to 29.

“Sa May 22 na pala, wala pa rin players pinas. Busy pa sa PVL, NCAA, at UAAP 😢

“New tournament new try out. Parang Pbb nanaman HAHAHA walang maayos na program kaya less expectation nalang din🥱 pero still support pa din🥰💙❤

“Wala man lang sinabi kung sino ang ipapadala laging biglaan.”

“Wala pa rin plano sa National team! Kahit coach wala pa.”

“Wala parin tayong NT, for the last place, na naman ang Pinas 😆

“San po line up natin? Hehe”

“May national team ba ang pinas? 🥲

“Tas wala pa ring national team😭😭 bwhahahahahaha”

“Nko po yare. Wala nanaman ang pinas nito.”

“Sobrang busy ng mga players natin recently para sakin magstick sa NU girls tapos ipasok ung mga Halimaw maglaro like Poyos, Gagate Laput Carballo, and Perdido at Pepito.”

The PNVF was always criticized by Filipino volleyball fans for their penchant for last-minute national women’s volleyball team formation in various international tournaments over the past few years.
