Greg Slaughter to make Manila debut against Valenzuela tonight

Gregory Slaughter is making his anticipated debut for the Manila SV Batang Sampaloc SGA Stars tonight against the Valezuela Classic VACARGO in the 2024 MPBL season at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila.

The Stars announced the first game of the former PBA top-overall pick on their social media pages late Thursday, encouraging the Manilenyos to drop by and watch the game live.

The 35-year-old Slaughter recently concluded his two-year stint with the Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka in the Japan B.League Division, where he had limited minutes with the squad.

Before the start of the MPBL season, the Stars listed the 7-foot Cebuano center on their extended roster, giving the Frank Lao-owned squad the right to activate him for the duration of the season.

Slaughter, a former Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings slotman, will form a formidable frontline with fellow former Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles center Rabeh Al-Hussaini at the Stars.

The Stars will enter tonight’s matchup with a 4-3 win-loss slate, while the Classic has a 5-3 record.
