Mark Padrones disheartened by sidelining from NU Bulldogs

National University Bulldogs big man Mark Kenshin Padrones suffered multiple fractures to his left cheek, leading to his absence from the UAAP Season 86 men’s basketball tournament for a certain period.

Padrones lamented that University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons center Maodo Malick Diouf caused his injury, which was unfortunate given his dedicated preparations for the UAAP season.

He started as the power forward for the Bulldogs in their initial three games but had to be sidelined for the last two matches due to his injury.

“Medyo nakakalungkot kasi sobrang tagal ng preparation namin for this season,” said Padrones, who had a total of nine points, six rebounds, and three steals in three games.

“As of now, may schedule na ako for surgery on Tuesday. Multiple fractures ‘yung nasa left cheek,” he added. “Siguro may better plans si God. Move on na lang and focus on recovery.”

Padrones also mentioned that Diouf had reached out to him several days after the unfortunate incident that occurred during the UP-NU game on October 7.

“Nangyari na kung ano ‘yung nangyari. Focus na lang ako sa recovery ko,” concluded the second-year Bulldog.

The Bulldogs have had a strong start to the UAAP Season 86 men’s basketball campaign, winning four out of their five matches.
