Juan Gomez de Liano and the Seoul SK Knights renewed their mastery of Dave Ildefonso and the Suwon KT Sonic Boom with an 85-71 victory on Tuesday night in the Korean Basketball League over at the Suwon KT Arena.
The Filipino-Italian guard Gomez de Liano was only used for less than five minutes and contributed two points and one assist as the SK Knights secured their 14th victory in 22 games.
Jameel Warney led the way with a double-double of 29 points and 10 rebounds; Jaehyun Oh added 13 markers; Youngjun Ahn and Seonhyung Kim tallied 12 each; and Oh Se-geun ended with 11 points.
This was the SK Knights’ third victory over the Sonic Boom this season.
“Three wins in a row against Suwon? In basketball, you have to be lucky,” said SK Knights head coach Jeon Hee-cheol in a post-game interview.
“Our rebounding was a little disappointing. The performance in the second quarter was not good. We were chased with a 12–13 point lead,” he added. “Except for that part, the defense we prepared went well.”
Ildefonso led the Sonic Boom with a season-high of 14 points, Paris Bass added 12 points and nine rebounds, and Ha Yoon-gi ended with 11 points as they dropped to 13-8.
