Ethan Alvano has rediscovered his offense as the Wonju DB Promy hacked out a 108-73 manhandling of the Seoul Samsung Thunders in the Korean Basketball League on Tuesday night at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium.
The Filipino-American guard bounced back from a subpar game with 16 points to go with nine assists and one rebound as Wonju remained on top in the standings with a 28-9 record.
Didrick Lawson tallied a triple-double of 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists; Kim Jong-gyu added 24 markers; and Sangjae Kang contributed 15 markers in the lopsided win.
“We are trying to improve our performance even when the players are not in good condition. We worked hard to raise the mood,” said Wonju head coach Kim Joo-seong after the game.
“Actually, we lost too many rebounds in the beginning. But I reminded them that the driving force behind us taking first place (in the standings) was scoring on a fast break after a rebound, so I am glad we improved on that aspect in the second half,” he added.
Kofi Coburn finished with 25 points, Ishmael Lane added 10 markers, and Filipino-American guard Avan Nava was scoreless to go with one rebound and one assist as the Thunders dropped to 5-31.
