De La Salle University Lady Spikers head coach Ramil de Jesus acknowledged the team’s struggle to capitalize on their height advantage against the University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses in last week’s UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball match.
De Jesus noted that the Lady Spikers’ middle blockers appeared disorganized against the Golden Tigresses, leading to their first defeat of the season.
“Nakita ko lang na ‘yung timing namin ng block medyo disorganized against UST,” said De Jesus, who spoke of their loss to the Golden Tigresses for the first time on Saturday night.
“Hindi namin na-maximize ‘yung strength namin, ‘yung middle namin na-limit ‘yung sets, happy ako (against Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles) na na-maximize namin ‘yung strengths namin,” he added.
Angel Canino mentioned that all the adjustments made following their loss to the Golden Tigresses were successfully implemented during their victory over the Blue Eagles on Saturday.
“Sobrang laki ng adjustment na ginawa ng team namin, and I am happy with the application na ginawa namin just from a week mula nung matalo kami sa UST,” Canino said.
The Lady Spikers aim to carry forward this momentum as they face the University of the East Lady Warriors on Wednesday.
