Kat Tolentino credits Choco Mucho’s strong start to Dante Alinsunurin’s system

Head coach Dante Alinsunurin’s system deserves credit for the Choco Mucho Flying Titans’ strong start in the Premier Volleyball League’s 1st All-Filipino Conference.

Flying Titans star Kat Tolentino points to the team’s success in their initial three matches, even against tough opponents like the Petro Gazz Angels and Chery Tiggo Crossovers, attributing it to their trust in head coach Alinsunurin’s system.

“I think it’s sticking to Coach Dante’s system; even if whatever team we do play, we can’t control what they do and just control our side,” Tolentino said in an article published on the PVL website on Monday.

“We stuck to the defensive pattern in blocking and floor defense,” she added. “That’s what we have to continue to be disciplined about because teams will have great players. It’s what we can do on our own that will decide if we can win or not.”

Tolentino added that facing challenges from the Angels and the Crossovers is beneficial for the Flying Titans as they prepare for their remaining matches in the season-opening conference.

“I think it was a good learning experience,” said the former Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles standout. “I think we’re just continuing to learn every game, and I look forward to the upcoming ones.”

“We’re just going to prepare the same as always, go back to training, and learn more. We have a long time to prepare; hopefully, we can learn more and get more chemistry,” she added.
