Report: UP considers filing protest against DLSU’s Topex Robinson

The University of the Philippines is reportedly considering filing a protest against De La Salle Green Archers head coach Topex Robinson for allegedly spitting on Fighting Maroons guard Reyland Torres’ shoulder.

According to SPORTSNOW host Snow Badua, citing a source, UP might submit the protest to the UAAP Ethics Committee.

“Isang source ng Abante Sports ang nagsabi na maaaring magsumite ng protesta ang UP sa UAAP Ethics Committee,” Badua said during the Monday evening edition of the program.

Robinson is facing criticism after a video allegedly showed him spitting at Torres as he passed by during the third quarter of the Green Archers’ 68-56 win over the Fighting Maroons on Sunday.

The incident reportedly sparked a verbal altercation between the Green Archers’ and Fighting Maroons’ coaching staffs, led by Gian Nazario and Tom Chua, respectively.
The clash was halted after referees intervened, issuing technical fouls to both teams.
