Ricci Rivero’s remarkable PBA debut made a significant statement, not just showcasing his on-court capabilities but also silencing critics regarding his off-court issues.
Rivero had an impressive rookie debut with 15 markers, eight of which came in the final quarter when the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters staged a furious comeback to steal the game from the NLEX Road Warriors.
Leren Mae Bautista, Rivero’s girlfriend, attended the game in person and enthusiastically applauded each basket from the former UP Fighting Maroon.
On her Instagram story, Bautista posted a video of Rivero, capturing the rookie guard performing the “washing clothes” gesture. The gesture was captured by Ricci’s brother, Prince, who filmed him flashing it after the game.
“Wag ka maglaba, ako na!” Bautista wrote in her story.
The gesture serves as a response to Ricci Rivero’s ex-girlfriend, Andrea Brillantes. Following their breakup, the young actress disclosed that it took Rivero a year to do his laundry. Since then, social media critics have consistently accused him of neglecting his laundry duties.
Rivero was the 17th overall pick in this year’s draft. (MJD)
