Mylene Paat hopes to see Chery Tiggo teammates step up in PVL semis

Mylene Paat is hoping to see her other Chery Tiggo Crossovers teammates step up, as she is set to miss some PVL 1st All-Filipino Conference semifinal games due to the upcoming Korean V-League tryout.

According to Paat, she is optimistic about Crossovers’ other wing spiker players, namely Ma. Shaya Adorador, Ennajie Laure, and Princess Robles can pick up the slack while she is out.

“Siguro may mga mami-miss man ako (na games) dito sa semis, but then I am pretty sure na ready ‘yung ibang teammates ko kung sakaling ipasok sila,” said the 30-year-old Paat.

Paat is one of the three PVL standouts who joined the KVL Asian Quota Player draft along with Creamline Cool Smashers’ Diana Carlos and Petro Gazz Angels’ MarJana Phillips.

The KVL Asian Quota Player draft combine will run from April 29 to May 1, and the earliest that Paat, Carlos, and Phillips can return is on May 2, which will force them to miss at least two semi-final games.

“’Yung pag-tryout ko sa Korea, I am not expecting na matanggap ako. It’s part of my exposure and experience na rin,” the former Adamson University Lady Falcons standout said.

“I am so thankful naman kay (Chery Tiggo head) coach (Emilio) Kung Fu (Reyes) and sa management namin na Chery kasi fully supportive naman sila sa pagta-tryout ko,” she added.

This will be Paat’s second time trying her luck in the Korean V-League after going undrafted last year.
