Roosevelt Adams misfires as Yamagata prevails over Aomori

Roosevelt Adams had a poor offensive game as the Yamagata Wyverns defeated the Aomori Watts, 99-93, in Japan B.League Division 2 on Wednesday night at the Maeda Arena.

The former PBA top-overall pick managed just one point after missing all of his five field goal attempts, but contributed eight rebounds in almost 14 minutes of action for the Wyverns.

James Bell top-scored for Yamagata with 31 points to go with six rebounds and six assists, while Timothy Holyfield had a double-double of 16 points and 18 rebounds as they improved to an 11-13 record.

“We had a hard time finding our rhythm, but I am glad we were able to come out victorious,” said Yamagata head coach Yuichi Ishikawa. “It was a tough schedule with consecutive away games, but I think we pulled through well.”

Patrik Auda tallied 30 points and 13 rebounds, former NBA player Jordan Hamilton added 21 points and 13 rebounds, and Yuichi Ikeda contributed 17 points and 10 assists as Aomori dropped to 15-9.
