UST-WVT coach Kung Fu Reyes lauds Mary Coronado: ‘Siya ‘yung nag-ignite sa natutulog naming galawan’

University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses head coach Emilio “Kung Fu” Reyes lauded Mary Coronado for her significant contributions in their 22-25, 21-25, 25-23, 25-20, and 15-7 triumph against the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws.

Reyes highlighted Coronado’s role as a spark for the Golden Tigresses, especially with their usual starters, Bianca Plaza and Jonna Perdido, unable to deliver their typical performance.

It is just na kailangan lang ng right time, ‘yun nag contribute siya big time.”

“Ito ‘yung pagkakataon na halos na-rotate na namin lahat ng quicker, so coming from nowhere, alam namin na si Mae na lang ‘yung hindi namin nasusubukan and ‘yun dire-diretso na so, luckily, tumama naman lahat ng pinaghihirapan niya,” he added.

Coronado concluded her debut UAAP appearance for the Golden Tigresses with eight points, making three crucial conversions in the fifth set as they maintained an undefeated record in four matches.

First UAAP game niya ‘yun and maganda naman ‘yung resulta, and we are very happy na nagbubunga naman ‘yung paghihirap nung bata,” he added.
